Lime Rock Park is known as one of the most scenic and
challenging road-racing courses in the U.S. With a rich and
varied history, The track has hosted some of the world's best
race drivers, and some of the world's most exciting races.
Lime
Rock and the history of road racing have been inseparably
entwined. Lime Rock has played host to nearly every great race
driver, car and series over the past 50 years. From Carroll
Shelby to Roger Penske, to Mark Donohue, Al Holbert and Tom
Kendall; from SCCA Regionals, to midgets, to Trans-Am, Can-Am,
IMSA GTP, the American Le Mans Series and NASCAR stock cars.
Lime Rock has seen it all.
On July 25, 1959 U.S.A.C. held two 20-lap heats, with a
60-lap finale. Roger Ward won the pole, but George Constantine,
in a DBR-1 Aston Martin sports car, took the lead at the start
and went on to win the first heat, with Ward right behind. Ward
took the second heat, followed by Constantine .
Chuck Daigh was there, driving a Maserati Formula One car.
Ward was following Daigh, right on his bumper. There is a
right-hand turn that leads to a downhill, connected to the front
straightaway, and every time they came down to that right-hand
turn Daigh would drop his left-side wheels off the track and
throw shit all over Ward. Ward finally passed him, then chased
down Constantine in his Aston Martin and went on to win the
race. This event was to be deemed the most popular road-racing
event in history, and was filmed by an ametuer from the infield.
It was fimed with a low quality camera, and is not perfect
quailty, but this is the only known footage of this
historical event.
Also on this DVD is 1960s Sports Car racing, 1972 Trans-am
Series, United Stock Car Club, 1950s Antique Car Parade, Hill
Climbs from Keene N.Y. , 1964 A.M.E.C. Ice Racing with some real
cool in-car camera footage.

Beer commercials featuring Bobby Hull.
This footage was shot from the top of the
grandstands, hard wired to the announcers booth. Listen in as Joe
Marotta, Jack Bergess, and Warren Ruffner call this event as the
drama unfolds. This DVD really gives you the feeling of being
right at the race as every exciting lap unfolds. This footage was
